Supporting Mental Health & Recovery
Turning the Corner (TTC) Residential Treatment Programs provide services for adolescent and young male adults ages 12 – 21 with behavioral problems, assigned to TTC by the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF).
Assessment & Shelter
Our Shelter and Assessment program provides treatment for up to eight males, ages (12 to 17) in need of temporary shelter and evaluation due to delinquent behaviors, truancy and dependency issues, an inability to return to their home or who may be in transition to another placement.
Wellness Center
We offer a staff-secure Mental Health Wellness Recovery Program for up to eight adolescent males, ages (12 to 17) with serious and persistent mental illness and/or behavioral disorders who are at risk for repeated psychiatric hospitalization, or who have completed at least one psychiatric hospitalization and are in need of an intensive treatment program before returning to their permanent residences.
Abuse Reactive
We offer two staff secure programs for youth with abuse reactive behaviors ages (12 to16) and (16 to 21). We offer a therapeutic environment which enables youth to identify triggers, examine past trauma and develop an individual abuse cycle which encourages family repair even when reunification with family is not always possible. We work closely with the probation department in our programs for youth with abuse reactive behaviors.
Developmental Disabilities
We provide a community based residential treatment program for up to eight adolescent males ages (13 to 21) who have developmental or intellectual disabilities along with psychiatric or behavior disorders, resulting from abuse/trauma. We provide these youth with placement in a caring, nurturing and structured home-like environment that can help them learn how to manage tasks of daily living, communication/social skills, following direction, and aggressive or disruptive behaviors.
